The children wake up at 6am, make their beds, brush their teeth and have a Scriptures Studies class before they go down to breakfast.
At 8:30, it's morning assembly in the school building courtyard for the day's updates and instructions, and for the presentation of cultural performances. The children then go to their classrooms, where they will be active until 3pm, with a tea break and a lunch break.
When their school day is over, the children go back to their hostel for tea, games, medical care and hygiene, followed by a new Scriptures Studies class, dinner and self-study.
After a long day, lights go off at 9pm.
Extracurricular Activities
Throughout the academic year, a great number of special activities are held. Principal among these is the Founding Day celebration, held yearly since April 2016 on Jetsunma Tsejin Lhamo's birthday.
Typically, the day starts with the students putting on ebulliant performances of song, dance and drama.
Following a celebratory pic-nic lunch, a hard-fought football match is held, with generally the school senior team facing a team of adults from the Sakya community. Putting all modesty aside, the school team generally comes out the winner!
Among others, important celebrations are held on the Gurus' Birthdays, Teachers' Day, Children's Day and Independence Day. Science and Art exhibitions are popular among the students, but Sports Day wins the day as the all-round favourite.
As much as their busy schedules allow them, His Holiness and Dagmo Kushok bring their engaged presence to most events.
On a more regular basis, interhouse competitions - spelling bees, elocution, sports, and several more.
