Future Star Cup Football Tournament
8th February 2026
A Junior football tournament was held at THS Dekyiling over the weekend, with 12 teams from different schools participating.
Our junior teams of under 10's and under 12's were among the participants, and each got first place in their respective categories.
To celebrate their victory, they were taken to lunch by members of staff.
Well done, boys! We're so proud of you!
Inter-School 2025 Football Tournament
7th November 2025
The Inter-school Football 2025 Tournament was held over the past 3 days at the Sakya Academy. Competing for the cup were TCV Selaqui, TNMF Clementown, THS Rajpur, Sachen School, Sakya Centre and Sakya Academy.
Supporters of all teams were gripped to their seats as the hotly-contested competition took its course.
In the end, the trophy went to Sakya Academy, who defeated TCV Selaqui in the final.
Well done, all!!!
DUNGSEY RINPOCHE PLAYS HOST

In the absence of his parents, Dungsey Siddhartha Vajra Rinpoche played host at Sakya Academy to groups of visitors from Spain and Taiwan.
A NEW BATCH OF STUDENTS

Today, our new batch of Sakya Academy students received their school uniforms from Dungsey Siddhartha Vajra Rinpoche.
The new boys were introduced by Rinpoche and senior boys to the art of putting on a tie and tying their shoe laces.

This morning, Khöndung Siddharth Vajra Rinpoche conducted the Sixteen-Arhat puja at the Sakya Academy to celebrate His Holiness' Western Birthday.

Today is the western Birthday of our beloved Guru.
We aren't blessed with his presence on this special day, but we rejoice enormously at the thought that he is accompanying His Holiness the Sakya Trichen in performing important religious duties in Dharamsala, on the occasion of the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Amongst other things, Rinpoche participated in the 15th Tibetan Religious Conference, in the course of which His Holiness the Dalai Lama made a crucial announcement regarding the choosing of his successor.

AN ASTOUNDING SUCCESS!

We are infinitely proud! Our senior boys have successfully passed their Class XII exams on the National Institute of Open Schooling Board.
Our senior boys come from the original batch of students that joined the Academy at its very beginning in 2016. At the time, they were young children, near illiterate, transported into a new world that was very foreign to them.
Nine years on, our senior boys are educated young men, carrying their weight in academic, philosophical, artistic and athletic fields, and endowed with strong ethical principles, as well as impeccable manners.
We heartily congratulate them and laud them for all their hard work throughout these years. Equally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to one and all who participated in affording them the means and support to attain such a lofty goal.
With all our hearts, we wish them boundless success in all their endeavours. We know that they will always do us proud.
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
29th April
Today, our senior boys participated in the Invitational Inter-School, Groton Basketball Tournament, which took place at the Tibetan Homes School, Mussoorie.
Our boys did very well in their first match, which they won, but were eliminated in their second match.
This was excellent practice for them, and they are confident that they will make great strides as they participate in future events.

SAKYA ACADEMY WELCOMES ITS NEW STUDENTS
2nd April 2025
Today, His Holiness the 43rd Sakya Trizin, along with the Sakya Academy staff and students, gave a warm welcome to the newest group of children to join the school.
As they received their uniforms from His Holiness, a new world opened up to the new arrivals, and it took no time for them to find their feet in their new environment.
We wish them our very best as they begin their journey of discovery and growth.
VISIT TO TCV
20th July 2024
Today our senior boys visited the Tibetan Private Industrial Training Institute, a branch of the Tibetan Children's Village in Selaqui.
It made for a fascinating day, and a very inspirational ones for those students who are not academically inclined and are more interested in vocational training. In offer are hands-on courses in several areas of learning, including Mechanics, Computer Skills, Food Production and Service Trades.
SPORTS DAY
25th October 2024
Today, Sakya Academy held its Annual Sports Day event.
As always, our boys outdid themselves in their various performances.
While also participating in the events, Khöndung Dungsey Siddharth Vajra Rinpoche took his place as Guest of Honour. The event was also graced by the presence of honoured guests, including Chief Guest Khenpo Jamyang Samphel, Special Guest Ven. Sonam Choegyal la, Yab Urgyen Khamritsang, Khenpo Tashi Dorjee la, and our school's former Principal Mrs. Tsering Choedon la and her husband Gen Tashi Dhondup la.
The event was introduced by a stunning march past, during which the students exhibited remarkable precision and discipline, right down to the youngest of their participants.
All the events were hotly contested, but in the end, Nagarjuna House won the day, while Chandrakirti House boasted the best march past.
Hearty congratulations to all!
